Wow! Where do I even start… Having been to many different GPs, consultants and countless A&E visit over 2 - 3 years and having no answer we weren't hopeful prior to meeting Dr Rao. 2 weeks before we had booked an appointment with a different consultant however I told my mum to find one more and book an appointment just incase we don’t have any look. Once again we had no look with the first consultant so we were looking forward to the following week when we would meet Dr Rao. Still we didn’t have much hope at all. Coming from appointments where doctors even said its mental health related we didn’t have high hopes and I was incredibly stressed. Dr Rao completely changed this. Straight away right to the point, incredibly comforting and understanding. After explaining the symptoms, Dr Rao felt my stomach. Hardly touching my stomach, I was sick almost immediately and this was when I realised I’m in good hands. Instead of saying “It’s psychological as I barely touched you” Dr Rao observed “He was only sick because of nerves. He wants to know what’s wrong and this is causing anxiety. So it’s not anxiety causing the illness it’s the illness causing the anxiety which then worsens it”! What an amazing Doctor realising this! He then said we’ll do an ultrasound, this will rule SMA syndrome and we’ll do a stool sample ruling out inflammatory disease. If these are negative, it WILL BE ibs. We saw this as an answer, meaning no matter what I have a diagnostic! 3 years nothing and Dr changed everything. The answer was SMA syndrome and IBS. Dr Rao put me on medication, life advice on dealing with this (e.g schedules) and food advice. We will never be able to repay Dr Rao! I had miss out on a whole year of high school and thanks to Dr Rao I’m now fully caught up and living a normal life. Thank you so much Doctor! I can never repay you! I’m forever grateful! 5 months later there was an IBS flare up so we revisited Dr Rao. Once again, straight away addressed the problem, immense comforted us and reassured us “its nothing but a minor bump”. Dr Rao never just gives 1 option, always back up plans. This helps me and my mum so much, knowing no matter what there’s an answer. I’m now on the mend thanks to Doctor Rao. Thank you for your immense patience, compassion, understanding, speed and tons more. I could write a whole page just praising Dr Rao. Thank you! You’re one in a billion. I 100% vouch for Dr Rao, there's not enough words in the dictionary to express how much I recommend Dr Rao. Thank you for everything, we are forever in debt to you.

Dr Rao was quite simply amazing. A great listener and gave a swift diagnosis for my daughter. After seeing numerous health professionals I didn’t think anyone could help my girl. Three days after starting the drugs he prescribed she was tip top. I couldn’t quite believe it. Keep been awesome Dr Rao.

Dr Rao treated my son last week. My son was anxious about repeated procedures and Dr Rao ensured everything possible was done to minimise his anxiety. He spoke directly to my son (not just me) which he really appreciated and his communication throughout was excellent. I would highly recommend Dr Rao.

What an amazing man! Kind, caring and expert knowledge. Treats the whole person with sympathy and understanding. Couldn’t think of a better Doctor to see with my children

An absolute professional and true gentleman. Nothing appears to be too much trouble for Dr Rao when it comes to putting his patients at ease; helping them understand what might (or might not) be making them ill; their diagnosis, and their prognosis. He listens, understands, explains and most important of all, he cares passionately about his patients. His demeanour and manner with children and their parents alike are both absolutely spot on. Of course, it's hard to know just how good a doctor he is in absolute terms. But based on the experiences of my family on many occasions over the last 5+ years, I would say he's the best consultant we have seen by far. Having trusted him with all three of my children, two of whom were diagnosed Coeliac (following many years of mis-diagnosis by others), I have no hesitation recommending Dr Rao to others, and often do so.
